The amount of sample required can vary depending on the type of sample and the
number of assays per sample.
Silage & Hay, 12-16 oz.
Grain & Ground Feed, 8-12 oz.
Water & Other Liquids, 1 pint (16 fl. oz.)
Turnaround Time
Results of routine samples are usually reported in ten (10) working days or
less. This is based on the type of sample and involvement of assays.
Sample Submission Forms
ITL supplies sample submission forms
for most types of samples. We need to know the following: name, complete address,
telephone and fax number of the submitter. Also types of product, sample identification,
desired analyses and analyte levels if possible. Proper sample identification
could save 1-2 days in turnaround time.
Sample Shipping
Use best way in your area. U.S. Postal and U.P.S. deliver before 12:00 p.m.
Federal Express delivers after 1 p.m. and samples processed the following day.
ITL furnishes sample envelopes, soil sample bags, sterile water bottles, and
manure bottles and boxes. Place as many samples as possible either in large
mailing envelopes or appropriate shipping cartons. This greatly reduces the
shipping costs and assures us that we receive all samples sent.
Sample Holding
ITL will hold samples for 30 days if at all possible.
Reporting Results
Certificate of Analysis will be mailed at the completion of analysis. All reports
will be mailed only to the billed client unless otherwise notified in writing.
Reassay Analysis
At the request of a client, if a reassay confirms the original results, you
may be billed for the assay. If the reassay results differ significantly, you
will not be billed.
Priority/Rush
By request, if a sample is marked RUSH and is placed ahead of other scheduled
work, an additional charge of 50-100% may be assessed for the assay.
