- It is HIGHLY recommended to agitate the manure
structure for a minimum of 4 hours prior to removal of nutrients.
- Take 15 sub-samples per lab sample to get an
accurate nutrient value.
- When the structure is approximately one third
empty, mix your sub-samples, and fill the provided sample bottle. Label
the sample bottle "A".
- On earthen structures, continue to move the agitator
around the basin to properly distribute the solid buildup throughout
the manure.
- Continue pumping the structure and take the samples
randomly until the structure is two-thirds empty. Again mix your sub-samples,
and fill the provided sample bottle. Label the sample bottle "B".
- Repeat step number 5 for the final one-third.
- Refrigerate/freeze within 24 hours.
