J.P. (Jack) Henry established Iowa Testing Laboratories (ITL) in Waterloo, Iowa, in 1945. Previously employed with the U.S. Industrial Alcohol and FDA in Washington, DC, and as head chemist with Salsbury Laboratories, Charles City, Iowa, he saw a need for a consulting and laboratory service for the poultry industry. After ten years and expansion of analytical services, the laboratory was moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa, to take advantage of larger facilities and to provide better service to clients from the Eagle Grove area.
After the death of J.P. Henry in 1978, Jack W. Henry took over as president and CEO. With consistent growth since its beginning, ITL has continuously expanded its laboratory services. Continued involvement in new techniques and scientific equipment has enabled ITL to be a leader in meeting the increasing demand of the agricultural and food industries.
ITL is headquartered in a modern one-story 12,000 square foot facility designed with you, the valued client, in mind. The laboratory is staffed with scientific and office personnel combining many years of laboratory experience. We are committed to providing you with quality service, and continued improvement in that service year after year.
